Disneyland is Your Land!

Day One of my trip to California flew by! I knew Day Two would more than likely be just as quick but I had free time until 4 to keep exploring and oh the things I saw!

I found out from another agent that Disneyland had handmade candy canes that they sold but you had to be first in line to snag a wrist band to be guaranteed one. I also wanted to see if there was any availability for a special tour they offered so we got in line at 6:30am PST waiting for Extra Magic Hour to begin. I rushed to check on the tour and the door was still closed so I rushed to get in line for the candy cane – SCORE! I hit the 10:30am beginning pick up slot. Now if I could just snag the tour.

I went to Town Hall to see if one of the cast members could either help with information or could at least guide me as to what time the Tour Gardens would open. Alas, I would have to wait for 9am and it was 8:45am. What was only a few minutes to some felt like hours! Finally, the door opened and a cast member greeted us.

I asked and she said “No Problem! We can make room for two more.” No joke folks! The tears began! I had been reading about this tour since I found out about the training and kept going back and forth on whether or not to take it and now, this Disney loving girl would be Walking in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps!

We met Sandi, our tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and had worked for Disney for more than 25 years. She took us all over Disneyland and told us not only stories about the park but also stories about Walt and how his Disney Park adventure began.

I am the kind of person that if you are going to see and do, you need to be immersed. This tour was everything I hoped it would be and even a bit more! At the conclusion of the tour and before our lunch, we were told we would be going “backstage” to visit a place where most guests only get to see pictures- we were going to Walt’s Disneyland Apartment. We were not allowed to take pictures. We had to leave our phones, cameras, bags, etc at the entrance to the apartment. I didn’t mind! I was at my happy place and I was going to a place most only dreamed about.

We were told history about the apartment, why it was there, some funny occurrences and at the end, the cast member said if everyone would grab their camera, they would take a picture for us to remember being there. I was so excited! Something I could show my mini’s when I get back home!

Once the tour was over, it was time to pick up the candy cane, check in to the Disneyland Hotel and start training.

Training for Night One was fantastic! A little bit of introduction of everyone attending, review of the timeline for the next few days and also GIFTS!

We ended our evening with dinner at Carthay Circle (the pork chop is amazing people) and a reserved viewing area for Believe Fireworks in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Day Two of training was sure to be a long day but I knew it would be an experience of a lifetime!

See you soon friends!
